From a quartet to an eight-piece band, The Old Town Swing Band can tailor their music to your needs. This makes them perfect for festivals, concerts, celebrations, corporate events, and soirees of any kind. They bring a sound that is reminiscent of the music played in hotel ballrooms, clubs and parties in the 1930's and 1940's.

Enjoy slow heart-wrenching ballads or snap your fingers and dance to the time-honored swingin' standards from the Big Band Era. You'll find yourself singing along to those ever-familiar tunes we all love.

The four constant band members are Liz Masterson, Kit Simon, Drew Horton, and Dave Dale.

Liz Masterson - vocals, rhythm guitar

Liz is a skillful interpreter of the swing standards. Her unique style is a result of her years of listening to Ella Fitzgerald, Jo Stafford, Peggy Lee and many other great vocalists of that era. Liz had performed with the Hot Tomatoes, Queen City Jazz Band, Johnny Gimble and sat in with Les Paul.

In addition to working as a performer, record producer, and business manager, Liz enjoys teaching at workshops and "music camps." Since 1989, she has been the coordinator of "Swing Week" at the Augusta Heritage Center in Elkins, WV., and taught 4 ears at the Ashokan Fiddle and Dance "Western and Swing Week" in the Catskills. June, 2005 will mark her 5th year on staff at Mike Dowling's "Greater Yellowstone Music Camp" which specializes in Blues and Swing.

Liz will be teaching "Songs of the Big Band Era" at the Arvada Center.

Kit Simon - guitar, vocals

Whether it's a hot jazzy number or a smooth dreamy ballad, Kit's prowess and sensibility on the vintage archtop guitar is just the ticket. A fine vocalist, his lead and harmony vocals add a smooth touch to the band's sound.

In addition to performing, Kit is the proprietor of the Olde Town Pickin' Parlor.

Drew Horton - mandolin

Instrumentally, the lead voice comes from Drew, the 2001 Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival National Mandolin Champion.

Dave Dale - stand-up bass, vocals

Hailing from Fort Collins, Dave holds down the low end, sets the groove and adds vocal harmonies.
